This Privacy Policy describes how Stringbet Software, LLC ("Stringbet," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Wolfbite mobile application for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android (the "App") and this website. It supplements our general Privacy Policy at stringbet.com/privacy; where the two differ with respect to the App, this policy governs.
Information we collect
Data What it is Where it is kept Account information When you sign in with Apple (iPhone) or with Google (Android), we receive the account identifier the provider assigns to you, your name, and your email address when the provider shares it (Apple's private relay address counts). We never receive your password. We create a Wolfbite account ID and link it to that identity. Our servers Game data The rounds you score: the course, the game and its rules, the bet, the names you enter for the players, scores, partner picks, presses, and the payouts the App calculates. A round is sent to our servers so spectators can follow it and so it can be resumed or handed off to another phone. Our servers, and your device Spectator data While you follow a round by join code, your account ID, display name and last-seen time are recorded so the scorer can see who is watching and hand the scoring to you. Our servers, while you follow Course data Golf course names, pars, stroke indexes and coordinates. A course you build or a correction you report is stored with your account ID. Our servers Location When you search for nearby courses, the App sends your current coordinates to our server to find courses near you. They are used for that one search and are not stored. Location is read only when you ask for nearby courses and never in the background. You can decline the permission and search by name instead. Not stored Device information With each sign-in we record the platform, operating system version, App version and device model alongside your session, for support and for the minimum-version check. Our servers Subscription The annual subscription is bought through the App Store or Google Play. The store tells the App whether a subscription is active. We do not receive your payment details. Apple or Google Local data Player name suggestions, your settings, and History (your completed rounds) are kept on your device. They stay there until you delete the App or clear them. Your device How we use it
- To provide, maintain and operate the App: sign-in, scoring, payout calculation, resuming a round, handing scoring to another phone
- To let spectators follow a round in real time
- To show courses near you when you ask
- To keep the course catalog accurate
- To answer support requests and to keep old versions of the App from running against a changed server
We do not use your information for advertising, analytics or profiling, and the App contains no advertising or analytics software.
How we share it
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- With the other players and spectators in a round you score or follow, to the extent gameplay needs it: player names, scores, bets and the names of the phones available for hand-off
- With the service providers that run the App's servers (see the next section)
- When required by law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request
- To protect the rights, property or safety of Stringbet, our users or the public
Third-party services
- Render hosts the Wolfbite servers and database in the United States (privacy policy).
- Apple and Google provide sign-in and the subscription. Their handling of your account is governed by their own policies.
- Venmo. The App offers an optional link that opens Venmo with a settlement amount filled in. When you tap it you leave the App and Venmo's privacy policy applies. We do not receive or store any Venmo account or transaction data.
Storage and security
Data on our servers is stored in a database hosted by Render in the United States. Every connection between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit. Data on your device is protected by the device's own security. We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account and the rounds you scored for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the App, or by following the steps at wolfbitegolf.com/delete-account. Deleting your account removes your account, your sign-in identity, your sessions, your spectator records and the rounds you scored from our servers. We keep a record that the account was deleted (its internal ID and the date) and nothing else. History on your device is not affected, and a round another player scored that lists your name stays in that player's History.
You may also request deletion by email at info@stringbet.com. We act on verified requests within 45 days unless the law requires us to keep something.
Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, the right to have it deleted (subject to certain exceptions), the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is needed), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Children
Wolfbite is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, write to info@stringbet.com.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy. Changes appear on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and in the App where appropriate. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept it.
